Chemistry & Geology

Our property contains a large deposit of volcanic tuff with the potential for production of tens of millions of tons of natural pozzolan.

Geology

  • Large deposit of volcanic tuff, up to 980 feet thick and over one mile in length.
  • The tuff is a white, crystal-poor, unwelded rhyolitic tuff, tuff-breccia, and sediments containing two poorly welded , red to brown ash-flow tuffs.
  • The volcanic tuff has the potential for production of tens of millions of tons of natural pozzolan.

Chemistry

  • The volcanic tuff with pozzolanic properties is the Bluestone Mine Tuff
  • A series of samples indicates the volcanic tuff has excellent pozzolanicity that meet or exceed ASTM C618 guidelines
  • An initial bulk sampling program of up to 36,500 tons has been permitted with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.
